My Mad Dream of An Essay

Remember that time you ate that spicy sopita  just before you went to bed on the night before the big  game ?  Oh, that weird dream you had about the 2016 presidential election.  When you woke up you couldn't quite remember the  [ adjective ]  details, but after reading " On Self-Reliance " and " A Sound of Thunder " it's all coming back to you now. The dream started badly.  You were in line with your family at a gym waiting to be sent to the losing side.  Everywhere you looked there were posters of president-elect willy Wang Jr, looking like a crazy chimpanzee who could eat a whole planet. Suddenly, there was Ralph Waldo Emerson telling you, "Ne te quaseveris extra"   You realized that you have something to contribute to the world so you decided to fight for it.  But it wasn't easy.  First you had to put on a fancy jersey and cape and then you had make a teleporting machine to go back in time to the gym so you could convince people to lear

Excuses, Excuses

I can't do this This is too hard I am inadequate I have been living this year jumping from excuse to excuse I gave up Then slowly but surely I came back around and realized there's no use Excuses are reasoning with yourself as to why you don't want to No excuse is a good excuse You can make a way you can do anything you put your mind to This year I came out uninterested, unmotivated and unprepared I didn't want to hear anyone's optimistic bullshit In all honesty I simply just did. Not. Care

Think about it

How do we know if the reality we live in is actually reality, and wasn't something else before, altered by time travel?

Emerson's Child

I am working on a response to Emerson, but its not quite up to my standards yet. It is coming soon.

My Emerson

Hey guys, So to wrap up with Emerson I'll be doing something that's a bit different. I won't be doing a poster or essay you know, the norm. I'll be baking. I'm going to have three boxes. They are going to be stacked on each other. The out most box will have fondant on it perfectly smooth, with the quote from mean girls "it's not my fault you're like, in love with me or something". This box represents what society wants everyone to be, perfect. The box under that will also have fondant, but it won't be as smooth, and it will have the quote, "I used to walk in to a room full of people and wonder if they liked me, now I look around and wonder if I like them". This quote represents a little under the surface. You want to be yourself, but you're afraid of what people will think. The last box will have fondant that I'd just on there how ever. It is going to be far from perfect. This box will have the quote "accept yourself, yo

Emerson said it

"Ne te quaesiveris extra" this quote absolutely stands out to me. It is so simple, but it gets you thinking. This quote means everything you need to be amazing is already inside you. You don't need things from the world to be amazing. You are great based what you exhale, not what you inhale. This quote is what got our conversation started today. It ignited disagreement, but also had many who agreed. "Nothing can bring you peace but yourself." I just love this quote so much, but only because I couldn't agree more. In my eyes this quote means if you want to be happy, if you want to be successful, pretty much if you want anything in life you have to go out and get it yourself. You can't rely on others for ANYTHING because you won't always have someone there, and nobody is going to be willing to do these things for you. I see it as the outcome will be so much more enjoyable knowing you did it on your own. I brought this quote up today because I felt li
